ERI has developed testing methods to ensure all systems and components meet Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications before they are fielded to the NAVAIR systems command recipients. ERI develops custom Screening Test Procedures (STPs) for each item that requires test upon receipt. The STPs are performed to ensure items meet the OEM Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) along with any additional test requirements that verify test items are ready for operation. ERI STPs have been used to enhance ATPs on new production contracts to test for failure conditions not captured on OEM ATPs.
By designing test equipment to support our various projects, ERI has been able to mitigate costs and increase reliability by performing comprehensive tests during the entire life cycle of our products. By identifying faulty components after acquisition, as well as during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ERI can make cost efficient decisions to repair or replace components or entire systems.
The scope of the tests performed at ERI include: center of gravity (CoG), stress, tension, and compression strengths, as well as electronic signal acquisition and passive component measurements. Our testing procedures cover initial purchase STP tests, scheduled maintainability Fielding Test Procedures (FTP) tests during life cycle checkpoints, end of life cycle tests, and any unscheduled tests due to damage or fault. With a rigorous two step quality assurance method, our test processes ensure OEM identical specifications.
As ERI continues to innovate new technology, our in-house tests allow our engineers to acquire crucial data to increase the life cycle and decrease maintenance costs of the associated products.
